DAR DRAPER is a mother of three and the founder and Creative Director of BEE Creative and Company, a creative and dramatic arts program in Concord, NC.  She has a passion for “rhyme” and all art that is inspired by children!

The Potty Train book was inspired by her own daughter, Bailey Joy, when her son Graham was being potty trained.  Bailey asked a family friend, “Did YOUR boy go on the potty train?”  It was an “ah ha” moment as Dar realized, “SHE thinks you go on a TRAIN to go potty….”  Thus, a book was inspired, and now we have….The Potty Train!

Dar received her degree in theatre education at Appalachian State University, and is currently teaching children ages 5-18 in her theatre school.  She loves to write plays as well, always seeking inspiration from her students and involving them in the delightful process of storytelling and play writing.

Dar currently resides in Davidson, NC with her husband, Andrew, and her kids, Bailey, Graham and Grayson.  The Potty Train is Dar’s second children’s book.  She is also the author of What is Love?  Questions a Child Asks. Stay tuned for more adventures in creativity to come!
